Each year we all make new year resolutions and most of the time losing weight & eating healthier is on that list! A lot of us want our physcial appearance to look good, but what about our inner appearance?
"Don't you realize that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?" 1 Corinthians 3:16
Growing up I would always hear this verse and people would always refer to it as physcial appearance and yes thats important because it's good to be healthy but that's not all the verse is saying. We are God's temple and we should be filling ourselves up with Him, with His word each day. We need to bring our empty cups to Him each day and asking him to fill us up!
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me! “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Imagine if Jesus was coming over to your house do you think you would have been cleaning up and doing the same thing as Martha? I know I probably would of! Something that I noticed that God says to Martha is that what Mary has chosen is better and it will not be taken away from her! God wants us to choose him each time, each day! Even in the midst of our busy days we have to choose him. Spending time with God is a choice, you have to really want to and desire to grow in Him to do it. God loves us and want to speak to us we need to take time to listen to Him. Sometimes we get so busy with good things that we miss out.

Lets make this year different, lets not make a resolution for this year but for a lifetime. Lets choose Chirst each day! I want to challenge you to make a decision to spend time with God daily. If that means waking up a little bit earlier before work, during your lunch time or instead of being on facebook. I know personally I started this a couple of weeks ago. I challenged myself is to spend time with Christ every single day this year. Lets not miss out on the best part of our day by spending time doing "good things."
Praying for you, Alondra
