Have you ever kept asking God for forgiveness for the same mistake over and over again?

I know I've been there before, this past Sunday I got to share a little with the youth about how God forgives us. Its funny becuase before I knew I would be talking to them about I had met with one of my sisters in Christ and we were talking about how sometimes we don't draw near to God in our weakness because the enemy fills us with lies that He can't forgives anymore. I wanted to share with y'all a little bit about it!

~ the GOSPEL cleanse us from all of our mistakes ~

In Luke 7:37-50

"And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answering said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he answered, “Say it, Teacher.”“A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?” Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Then those who were at table with him began to say among[a] themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?” And he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

"They called her sinner, Jesus called her forgiven" - Luke

See this woman knew she was forgiven so she celebrated it and she worshiped God. How beautiful is that! Many times we don't believe we are forgiven so we keep asking God for forgiveness over and over again for the same thing. When we don't let it go the enemy uses it aganist us and the more we struggle with that issue and think we can't come before God anymore. In Hebrews 10:22 it says "let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water." See God already washed our sins away its not our job to cover our sins. Jesus blood covered them on the cross and He said we are FORGIVEN. My sisters and brothers this such a beautiful truth that sometimes we let the enemy tell us different. The mistakes and choices you have made in the past no longer have to define you becuase you are FORGIVEN, CHANGED and made NEW.

Here are some verses that talk about God's forgiveness and what He has done for us! I know this is something I sturggled with & even now sometimes I still do. [Romans 5:8, 8:1, 8:18, 8:38-39] One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:26 "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words."

Dear Father, thank you for your forgiveness and for the holy spirit being able to intercede for us when we don't have the words to say, I pray that we may be able to write this beautiful truth in our hearts that you have cleansed us and made us new. We no longer have to live with the guilt of our sins, but that we can share how you have forgiven us with others and through our past mistakes and choices you be glorifed!

In Jesus Name AMEN
